The Bukit Jalil Sports School Student Association or its abbreviation X-BJSS was formally established on 6 November 2013 through registration with the Registry of Societies (ROS).

The idea of the formation of the alumni is coming from former Bukit Jalil Sports School Principal (SSBJ), YBhg. Datuk Chin Leng Sim @ Marina Chin who feels it's time for former SSBJ students to "go back to school" to share their experiences and expertise to continue the momentum of excellence and excellence, especially in sports and academics.

The establishment of X-BJSS is also a "bridge" linking the school and its former students.
